A Gargrave restaurant has been chosen as one of 13 national finalists in the prestigious Tiffin Cup competition.
Bollywood Cottage, on the village’s High Street, was the Skipton and Ripon nominee in the annual awards which aims to find the best South Asian restaurant in the country.
From 94 nominees nationwide, the restaurant is now down to the final 13 with the awards being presented in the House of Commons in July.
Keith Vaz MP, Chair of the Tiffin Club, which organises the awards, said:
“We are delighted that Bollywood Cottage has beaten extremely stiff competition in order to become one of the finalists of the Tiffin Cup on 8 July 2014.
“This is a great tribute not just to the nominee, Bollywood Cottage, but also to the constituency of Skipton and Ripon as a whole. We wish them the very best luck for the final.”
Julian Smith, MP for Skipton and Ripon, who nominated the restaurant, said:
“Having always had great food and service at Bollywood Cottage, I am delighted the restaurant is through to the final of the Tiffin Cup 2014. This is one of the most prestigious awards to be held in Parliament and I look forward to cheering them on at the finals on behalf of the entire constituency.”
