Julian, the Small Business Ambassador for Yorkshire, has joined forces with Karren Brady to mark the launch of Small Business Saturday which takes place next month.
The MP is encouraging companies across the area to sign-up to be part of the event on Saturday 7 December which aims to encourage people to shop locally and support small businesses in their communities.
At their meeting, Julian and Karren discussed what more can be done to support small businesses in Yorkshire.
Julian Smith said:
“It is important we recognise the huge importance of small businesses to the creation of a long-term sustainable recovery across Yorkshire and the UK and this is the aim of Small Business Saturday. The event will promote the hard work and commitment of entrepreneurs and hard working small company owners across the country.”
Karren Brady, who is working with the Conservative Party as a Small Business Ambassador, added:
“In my new role I am looking forward to listening to the needs of small business to make sure we make Britain the best place to start and grow a business, supporting those who work hard and want to get on. That is why I would encourage small businesses to join our campaign and sign up at www.thesmallbusinesscampaign.com.”
