Julian recently visited Masham Town Hall to meet with representatives from the Masham Town Hall Community Charity.
The Chair, Peter Usher, outlined the ongoing work to maintain the Grade II listed building, which first opened back in 1913.
The charity have nearly completely renovated the building services and now hope to move onto the fabric of the building itself, for which they will seek assistance from the Government’s Community Ownership Fund.
Julian has offered his full support to their application.
Julian Smith said, “It was fantastic to visit Masham recently and offer my support for their efforts to preserve the Town Hall for future generations.
“With its wide range of events and performances, it’s a superb example of what a community rallying around is able to achieve and I hope their application to the Fund is successful.”
