Julian visited Sharow CE Primary School on Friday last week to meet with pupils and answer some of their questions.
Gemma Snodgrass, teacher in charge, also gave Julian a tour of the school and the outdoor space and garden available to students.
The children took some time to show Julian their autumn art and decorations, before Julian sat down with year 5 and 6 students to talk about his role as their Member of Parliament and answer some questions.
An interesting and challenging variety of questions were posed, from which laws he would change and the most famous person he has met, to endangered animals and baseball facilities in England.
Julian Smith said, “It was fantastic to visit Sharow Primary School, speak to the students about my role in Parliament and answer their questions, including a particularly challenging one about baseball facilities here in North Yorkshire!
“I’m grateful to the headteacher, Jacqui Palmer, for inviting me, and Gemma, for showing me around. I look forward to visiting again down the line.”
