Julian Smith MP met with Jessica Alexander, the Executive Director of the National Bed Federation, at an event in Parliament for the furniture industry. The National Bed Federation is based in Skipton and represents a significant British manufacturing sector worth over £900m a year.
Julian Smith said: ‘I enjoyed meeting Jessica and speaking with her about the valuable contribution of the bed manufacturing industry and wider furniture industry to our economy. The furniture industry contributes more than £11 billion to our country’s GDP and helps account for over 250,000 jobs. I was pleased to be able to meet Jessica and show my support for this important part of the manufacturing sector.’
