Julian Smith MP attended a reception held by the RFCA for Yorkshire and The Humber at Westminster on Wednesday 16 March.
At the event he met a number of volunteers and reservists from the local area.
The Skipton and Ripon MP heard about the essential role that Reserve Forces play in our nation’s security and discussed the challenges faced by reservists as they balance their commitment to civilian jobs, families and friends, and the Reservists. They also discussed the excellent work being done by the Cadet Forces in preparing young people from all backgrounds to be better citizens.
Julian Smith MP said: ‘It was inspiring to meet such diligent and committed volunteers and reservists from our local area. I pay tribute to the important role that they play in our national security.’
