Julian Smith MP met last week with year 5 and 6 students from Embsay Primary School at Skipton Town Council to discuss democracy and his role as MP.
The visit was organised by the school so that pupils could gain a greater insight into the activities of MPs and local councils. Julian spoke about what he did as their MP, his role in Government and was asked questions on a range of national and local issues.
Julian Smith said: ‘It was a delight to meet with such a thoughtful and engaged group of pupils. They asked a very wide range of questions and it was a great opportunity for them to understand how they are represented in our local area.’
