Julian Smith, Member of Parliament for Skipton and Ripon, has published his Annual Report for 2015-16.
The report gives an overview of the work he has been doing over the last few months and the commitments he is focused on delivering for Skipton and Ripon.
Julian Smith said: ‘Since the General Election in May, time has flown by with a packed diary both across Skipton and Ripon and in Westminster. I was delighted to have been re-elected to represent our beautiful constituency and I look forward to building on the work I have done over the last five years.
‘I am focused on deliver on the commitments I made at the last election: ensuring our rural towns and villages are better connected through increased phone coverage and Superfast Broadband, speaking up for the farming sector, promoting apprenticeships and opportunities for young people, and getting our economy back on track. I have been visiting local businesses across my Skipton and Ripon, from small start-ups to our biggest employers who create the jobs that give our area such high employment rates.
‘In just a few months we have seen a dramatic turnaround of the economy, with more people than ever in work in the UK. We are helping young people buy their own homes with assistance through Help to Buy, and we are building more homes each year with the number of new homes being registered across the UK at its highest level since 2007.’
