Julian Smith MP visits to Tarmac’s Arcow Quarry at Helwith Bridge, near Settle. Tarmac is the UK’s largest supplier of construction material and Arcow quarry is an important part of their network.
Julian was given a plant tour by Tarmac representatives and they were able to discuss Tarmac’s particular use of Arcow Quarry and the current policy issues affecting their business.
Julian Smith said: ‘It was a pleasure to visit Arcow Quarry. I was impressed by Tarmac’s work in our area and I was also interested to hear that they have recently invested in upgrading our rail freight facility at the Arcow Quarry site, allowing them to move their product right across the country’
