Last week, Julian Smith was shown around the Bentham Community Library by Craven District Councillor for the Bentham ward, Linda Brockbank. Julian has continued to support the preservation of this important facility, since North Yorkshire consulted on changes to provision in 2015.
This library is one of several community- managed libraries in the area. It is operated by Pioneer Projects, working in partnership with North Yorkshire County Council.
Julian Smith said: ‘I was delighted to visit the recently decorated and furnished community-managed library. I am pleased to have campaigned hard to preserve these services, and I pay tribute to North Yorkshire County Council, volunteers, and Councillor, Linda Brockbank, who have worked hard to maintain this important community resource.’
