Julian Smith MP has welcomed the news that three schools from the constituency have been named in the list of the top 10 schools in the North of England by the Sunday Times.
Ripon Grammar School topped the list of best performing state secondary schools in the north of England for the sixth successive year, while Skipton Girl’s High School came second, and Ermysted’s Grammar School was sixth.
The Sunday Times School Guide, widely acknowledged as the most authoritative survey of the country’s best schools, identifies the 2,000 highest-achieving schools in the UK based on recent examination results.
Julian Smith MP said: ‘I am delighted to see that three local schools are in the top spots of the The Sunday Times Schools Guide 2019. We are very lucky to have so many good schools in our area, and I congratulate all the schools recognised for their hard work over the past year.’
