Julian was invited to visit Roecliffe CE Primary School last week to look around and speak to pupils about his role as their local Member of Parliament.
Lesley Briggs, Headteacher, showed Julian around with the help of school leaders, who introduced him to each class and explained how the library system works.
They were also able to discuss their involvement with Forest School, which enables pupils to access woodland nearby for their activities, as well as upcoming trips to London and France later this year.
Julian spoke to Class 2 & 3 pupils about his role as an MP and how he became one. It was also a chance for them to put their questions to Julian, which ranged from his favourite part of the job and current legislation to school funding and what makes a good leader.
Julian Smith said, “It was fantastic to visit Roecliffe on their Wellbeing Day and speak to pupils on a wide variety of topics.
“I’m grateful to Lesley for inviting me, and for all her work and that of her teachers and staff.”
