Julian has met with the Headteacher of Upper Wharfedale School to discuss the latest on the future of home to school transport.
Andrew Taylor and the MP met to discuss the issue, which could see the withdrawal of subsidies for some bus services to the Threshfield school. It now seems that a solution has been proposed by North Yorkshire Council which could resolve the issue.
The MP has also been working with Nidderdale High School to address this issue which will have an impact on pupils attending the Pateley Bridge school.
Julian said:
“I am pleased that after many discussions with North Yorkshire County Council and raising the issue at Westminster, the work I and others have put into finding a solution to this issue appears to have be leading to a positive resolution.
“Small rural secondary schools, like Upper Wharfedale and Nidderdale High, play a hugely important role in our community and I am glad that North Yorkshire County Council is listening to the concerns of staff, students and parents.”
