Julian Smith MP, Member of Parliament for Skipton and Ripon, has announced the winner of his annual Christmas card competition. The competition is open to all primary school children across the Skipton and Ripon constituency. In October, Julian wrote to each school inviting children to take part and design a card which goes out to hundreds of people across Westminster and the Constituency.
This year, the MP received hundreds of beautiful cards from pupils. The judging proved extremely difficult but after much deliberation, a winner and four runners-up were selected. Bebe Whitehead, from Threshfield Primary School, designed the winning card with her very jolly looking Father Christmas.
The four runners-up were Oliver Brummitt from Giggleswick Primary School with his penguin drawing, Caleb Turpin from Settle Primary School with a Father Christmas and Tree, Zac Thompson from Summerbridge Primary School with a beautiful hand-painted reindeer and finally Sophie Elgie from Greatwood Primary School with a Christmas pudding and sheep!
Julian Smith said: ‘Thank you to all the children who took part in this competition. It was a pleasure to look through their designs and to see the creativity and skill that goes into producing them. Congratulations to Bebe and the four runners-up!’
