Julian has met with Councillor Carl Lis and members of Ingleton Parish Council to hear about the closure of the town’s Post Office.
The branch has closed due to the premises being withdrawn by the owner. The MP has now urged the Post Office to find a short-term solution and permanent replacement as soon as possible.
Mr Smith said:
“Post Offices are at the heart of the community so I know how much of an issue any closure, no matter for how long, causes for both residents and businesses.
“I have spoken to Post Office managers and asked them to urgently find a way of maintaining a Post Office service in Ingleton as well as seeking new premises for a permanent branch in the town.”
