MP joins crowds to watch finish of first stage in Tour de Yorkshire

Julian Smith, Member of Parliament for Skipton and Ripon, joined crowds in Settle to watch the final moments of the first stage of the Tour de Yorkshire on 29 April.

Julian Smith said: 'It was fantastic to watch the finish of the first stage of the Tour de Yorkshire in Settle on 29 April and to see so many people lining the streets across the region to cheer on the cyclists. Even the sun appeared in the final minutes! The Tour has become a brilliant event in Yorkshire’s calendar and a great opportunity to showcase our beautiful region to the rest of the world. Congratulations to everyone involved in organising this year’s Tour!'
