Julian Smith MP recently met with Rod Barnes, Chief Executive of the Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) to discuss concerning reports from earlier this year about ambulance response times across the constituency. The discussion took place at Pateley Bridge ambulance station and involved a conversation about the challenges posed by emergency service provision in rural areas and the measures YAS is taking to react to recent increases in demand, including increasing their staffing levels.
Julian Smith MP said: “I have been concerned for some time about cases of slow response times by YAS to our most rural areas. I was reassured that YAS is taking these concerns seriously but will continue to speak with them to ensure services to rural residents are as speedy as they should be. I pay tribute to the hard work and dedication of the fantastic people at YAS who look after us every day.”
