Julian has received an update from the team rolling out high speed broadband to North Yorkshire on the progress being made.
He met with Superfast North Yorkshire (SFNY) Chief Executive John Moore who gave the MP a summary of the achievements that had already been made and the progress towards connecting as many homes and businesses as possible to faster, more reliable internet services as soon as possible.
The latest update from the SFNY team shows 80% of North Yorkshire now has the ability to access fibre-based broadband services with the project meeting its targets. In the Skipton and Ripon constituency, there are 98 live broadband cabinets serving 25,870 premises.
Julian said:
“Having led the political campaign to ensure as many homes and businesses in North Yorkshire as possible have access to high speed internet connections, I am keen to ensure we remain on track in the roll-out of superfast broadband.
“I discussed some of the challenges being faced by specific communities with the project team and urged them to continue to engage with these areas to find solutions. I understand the frustration of those who are yet to see the benefits of having high quality connections and will continue to work to ensure these issues are resolved.”
“It is encouraging to hear the project overall is on target and that more and more homes and businesses can now benefit from high speed, high quality internet connections. I look forward to being kept updated with the work being done and will continue to fight for those communities still to be connected.”
