Julian has visited Harrogate’s Job Centre Plus to hear about the work being done to get more people into employment in Nidderdale, Ripon and Masham.
He met the team at the town’s office which covers residents in the eastern side of the Skipton and Ripon constituency during the visit on Friday 30 May.
The MP, along with Harrogate and Knaresborough colleague Andrew Jones MP, heard about the introduction of Universal Credit in the area and met with people already benefitting from the new policy.
Julian said:
“The role of Job Centres in ensuring that more people who are looking for work are matched with the jobs that are available is hugely important and I wanted to hear how those efforts are going and find out what further support they need.
“I was encouraged to hear about the positive numbers of those moving from being unemployed to having jobs and passed on my thanks to the team in the Harrogate Job Centre for all their efforts in ensuring that the numbers out of work in Ripon, Nidderdale and Masham are amongst the lowest in the country.”
