Julian Smith MP visited Skipton Jobcentre Plus and met with Jo Corney – District Manager for North, East Yorkshire and the Humber District, Chris Joyce – Customer Services Lead for North Yorkshire, Mychelle Taylor – Employer and Partnership Manager for Harrogate and Skipton and Hannah Spencer – Skipton Work Coach Team Leader.
Julian spoke with them about the work they are doing in Skipton to encourage and support people to get the best opportunities. They also discussed Skipton Jobcentre Plus’ roll-out of Universal Credit Full Service. The new-look centre offers a range of support with workshops, drop-ins and advice from specialists.
Julian Smith MP said: ‘I was very pleased to meet the team at Skipton Jobcentre – I was impressed by the commitment of the team there and I think they are doing some fantastic work.
‘It was especially interesting to hear about their successful roll-out of Universal Credit Full Service and to also hear about how well it is working. Universal Credit is a major reform that will transform the welfare state, provide more incentives to work and offer better support for people across North Yorkshire and the country as a whole.’
