2024 marks 30 years of The National Lottery and 30 years of The National Lottery Heritage Fund. During this time, The National Lottery has awarded £9.2 billion of National Lottery and other funding to more than 52,000 projects across the UK. This includes £2 billion to more than 12,500 projects in the North.
Since 1994, The National Lottery Heritage Fund has awarded just over £27.1 million to 229 projects in Skipton and Ripon. Examples include a development grant of £99,396 awarded to Ripon Museum Trust in 2021 to develop the ‘Inspiration for a Fairer Future’ project and a £2.1 million grant to the Ingleborough Dales Landscape Partnership Project in 2013.
The National Lottery exists to invest the money raised by National Lottery players in heritage good causes across the UK.
Organisations can apply to The National Lottery Heritage Fund at any time for grants ranging from £10,000 to over £5 million. There is no fixed deadline, and funding decisions are made every month across the UK.
Commenting Skipton and Ripon MP, Julian Smith, said, “I am grateful for the vital role The National Lottery and the National Lottery Heritage fund continues to play in Skipton and Ripon.
“The grants help not just individual projects but they also bring about benefits for people, places and our natural environment. I look forward to learning more about their work in our area at their Northern Legacy parliamentary event in October.”
