The Government has announced that £105 million will be made available to support young people working or studying abroad.
As part of the Turing Scheme, disadvantaged students will take up two thirds of the work and study opportunities from September, thanks to additional funding for universities, colleges and schools.
Applications over the past year were the most successful to date, with over 40,000 students travelling overseas to study or work during the next academic year.
The Turing Scheme widens access for students to international opportunities in education and training, with more than 22,800 Higher Education placements, over 6,700 school placements, and more than 10,500 Further Education and Vocational Education and Training placements.
It is open to education providers and other eligible organisations across the country, with the US, Japan and Canada among over one hundred and sixty international destinations.
