Julian Smith MP has attended the official opening of Burton United FC and Burton in Lonsdale Parish Council’s new pavilion.
The funding has enabled the club and council to build a new two-team changing pavilion, complete with one official's changing room, showers and toilet facilities. There are also disabled access toilets, a large clubroom and storage space.
Julian said: "I was delighted to attend the opening and I would like to pay tribute to the committee for all their incredible work in delivering this excellent facility to the village. It will be a great addition to Burton in Lonsdale's sporting facilities.
"It is very exciting for Burton United FC, who play in Division Four of the North Lancashire and District Football League, that the new pavilion enables them to meet ground grading requirements that will allow them to progress to the next level of the football pyramid. I wish them every success for the future!"
