Please find below the latest update from Julian on Pennine buses:
The provision of bus services following the recent cessation of the Pennine bus service in Craven remains one of my key priorities. I have been in close contact with North Yorkshire County Council over the past fortnight, continuing to represent the concerns which have been raised with me about the replacement service provided by the Council.
I wanted to update you today as I believe the Council is very close to proposing a revised timetable for the former Pennine network, which I understand goes some way towards addressing these concerns.
I consider this to be a work-in-progress, but I am confident that steps are being taken in the right direction towards a bus service that meets communities’ needs. I have no doubt that the Council is working hard to provide a workable solution, which may include the involvement of a commercial operator on some of the routes.
As I have said previously, it is important to present concrete evidence of where bus services are needed and if there are further issues you would like to raise with me beyond what you have already communicated, then please do not hesitate to get in touch.
I will continue to work closely with all parties involved and keep you updated on this issue.
