Julian is encouraging communities in the constituency to enter the Great British High Street Awards 2014.
The Future High Streets Forum, which is organising the awards, brings together leaders across retail, property, and business with government. It has established the annual event to recognise and celebrate the importance of high streets and town centres to communities and the local economy.
Entries are now open (26 June) for the Awards via the ‘Great British High Street’ website www.thegreatbritishhighstreet.co.uk. Applications close on 1st August 2014.
Julian said:
“We have many excellent examples of strong and pioneering high streets and town centres across Skipton and Ripon and I will be encouraging these areas to enter the Great British High Street Awards and supporting their efforts.
“Promoting the areas at the heart of our communities is crucial to the health of our towns and villages, as well as the wider economy, which is why I am supporting the Future High Street Forum’s efforts to celebrate existing high streets and encourage more innovation in the future.”
