Julian has marked 100 days until the Tour de France’s arrival in Yorkshire at an event in Westminster.
Julian, together with the event organisers, Leader of the House of Commons Andrew Lansley and other MPs from along the route of the British leg of the world’s biggest annual sporting event, assembled outside Parliament.
Dozens of miles of the Grand Depart will pass through the Skipton and Ripon constituency on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 July with tens of thousands expected to arrive in the area to watch.
Julian said:
“With 100 days to go, excitement is continuing to build across Yorkshire for the arrival of the world’s biggest annual sporting spectacle and we wanted to mark that at Westminster to show the cross-party, wide-ranging support for the Tour de France in Parliament.
“With tens of thousands set to line the route and billions watching on television around the world, the Grand Depart will highlight our region on a scale rarely seen. It is a great opportunity to show off our stunning countryside, boost businesses across the area and showcase our great Yorkshire hospitality.”
