Julian has welcomed an increase in the number of students in Skipton and Ripon studying for core academic subjects.
A third more students are now studying the English Baccalaureate subjects in the constituency with 39% being entered for them in 2013 compared to 29% in 2010.
Pupils achieve the EBacc if they get a C or better in the core subjects of English, maths, history or geography, the sciences, and a language.
Julian said:
“I believe it is positive to see the number of students sitting exams in these crucial academic subjects increase in the Skipton and Ripon constituency.
“The Government’s education reforms are all about ensuring young people who want to work hard have the skills they need for a good job, apprenticeship or university place and get on in life.”
