Julian has met with students at Ripon Evolve to talk about his life at Westminster and in the constituency and his work as an MP.
Ripon Evolve is a centre for young people that offers a range of activities, workshops and lessons to suit individual needs and encourage engagement, volunteering, motivation and achievement.
The MP spoke to around 30 students at the organisation’s North Street base in the city on Friday (15 November).
Julian said:
“It was great to be able to talk to students at Ripon Evolve about my life as the Member of Parliament for Skipton and Ripon.
“They asked a series of questions about what my work involved and how I represented them at Westminster and I enjoyed meeting them, hearing about what they were doing and discussing important issues with the group.”
Bev Skaife, Head of Evolve, added:
"The students at Evolve, a post-16 education and training centre in Ripon, enjoyed an excellent and informative visit from Julian Smith MP.
“It was a great opportunity for the students to gain an insight into the life of an MP and to discuss issues that impact on their daily lives as part of their Politics lesson. Julian also advised the students about how to impress at interviews and during work experience".
