Julian will make the case for a robust response against the Guardian’s communication of intelligence information following its reporting of recent stolen leaks.
He has secured a Parliamentary debate in Westminster Hall which will take place on Tuesday afternoon between 4.30 and 5pm and will be responded to by the Home Office.
The MP, who yesterday wrote to the Metropolitan Police Commissioner urging him to conduct an inquiry, under the Official Secrets Act and Terrorism Act 2000, into the actions of the Guardian, said:
“I am pleased that the Speaker has granted time for this important debate. I look forward to laying out the reasons why I believe that the Guardian has crossed the line between responsible journalism and seriously risking our National Security and the lives of those who seek to protect us. ”
