Julian Smith MP has welcomed the strong financial results from Skipton Building Society in a meeting with their Chief Executive, David Cutter, last week.
The building society has created over 150 new jobs in the last financial year as well as introducing a successful apprenticeship scheme. They have also seen a 75 per cent increase in total Group profit before tax (PBT) to £181.6m.

"Skipton Building Society has performed brilliantly over the last financial year. This is great news locally as the Society is such a big employer and I was delighted to hear about the number of jobs that have been created.
"I was very pleased to hear about both the successful apprenticeship scheme the Society has set up and the ways in which Skipton Building Society continues to invest in local community groups and charities."
