Julian Smith MP attended the 21st Annual Craven Police Charity Quiz and Auction on Friday evening, at the Rendezvous Hotel in Skipton. The event was hosted by Detective Inspector Steve Menzies from North Yorkshire Police and the aim of the evening was to raise money for local charities, in particular those helping young people.
Last year’s 20th anniversary event raised an incredible £6,000, and this year the organisers were hoping to raise even more. This year’s chosen groups were SELFA (Skipton Extended Learning for All) and PETAL Childhood Cancer Research - both based in Skipton.
Julian Smith MP said: ‘It was a pleasure to attend this wonderful event and I pay tribute to the organisers and to DI Steve Menzies for putting together such a fun evening while raising money for some fantastic local charities.’
