To celebrate the successful modernisation of Ripon Post Office, Julian Smith MP for Skipton and Ripon cut the ribbon to officially launch the newly refurbished branch.
The modernised, main style, Ripon Post Office at 1 Finkle Street, Ripon HG4 1AA has been refurbished to include two modern open-plan counters, one secure screened position and a Post Office serving point located at the retail counter which is available during shop opening hours offering selected services. A new retail element has also been incorporated into the branch.
Mrs Amarjit Kaur Pooni, the new operator of Ripon Post Office said: “I am delighted with our newly refurbished premises. I am looking forward to welcoming existing customers and new people to the Post Office. I regard the Post Office network as a vital part of the community.”
The refurbished main-style Ripon Post Office also boasts extended opening times amounting to an extra 5 hours a week more than previously offered including new Saturday afternoon opening.
Julian Smith MP for Skipton and Ripon said: “I was delighted to open the newly modernised Ripon Post Office on Friday following its refurbishment as part of a national transformation programme funded by the Government. The new facilities, combined with the extended opening hours, will make a real difference for Ripon residents.”
At Ripon Post Office customers can access a wide range of Post Office and mails services, including international parcels, Special Delivery, Local Collect and home shopping returns, make cash withdrawals from a Post Office Card Account, send funds abroad using Moneygram, pay bills, buy holiday money, get insurance, mortgages and savings and top up mobile phones.
Post Office Manager, Mark Gibson said: “I’d like to wish everyone at Ripon Office every success in their new venture. We understand how important having a Post Office is to residents in the area and we are confident that this new modern Post Office service will meet the needs of the local community and secure services for the future.”
Many Post Office branches across the UK have undergone significant modernisation, offering improved customer service including longer opening hours. The programme of modernisation will continue until 2018.
