Julian Smith MP has welcomed constituent Margaret Dawson along with Kevin Hollinrake MP and his constituent Judy Hemsworth to Parliament who were in London to attend the Buckingham Palace Garden Party on Tuesday.
Margaret Dawson was this year awarded with MBE for her services to Hambleton District Show and to charity for more than 20 years. As the Chief Organiser of the show, Margaret has helped the show become one of the largest horse shows in the country and each year raises thousands of pounds for charity. In 2016, the show will be taking place on 29 May and will be run in aid of its main charity, Yorkshire Cancer Research as well as securing donations to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and the British Heart Foundation among other charities.
Julian Smith said: 'Margaret's MBE was extremely well deserved and I wish her the very best of luck for this year’s event. I hope Margaret and Judy had a wonderful afternoon at the Palace despite the rainy London weather!'
