Julian Smith MP attended a meeting at Craven College last week with the Principal, Robert Bellfield and Andy Brown, who is a governor at the school. The discussion focussed on funding for 16 to 19 education and the proposed merger of Craven College, Shipley College and the Keighley Campus of Leeds City College to form an Aire Valley College.
Julian Smith said: ‘I am planning on meeting with the Minister of State for Skills, Anne Milton later this week to raise these issues with her.
‘I was really pleased by the Government’s announcement of an extra £500m in funding for technical subjects and I am doing everything I can to support Craven College. The college does fantastic work and I want to ensure it has all the resources it needs to carry on doing so.’
