Julian Smith MP welcomed the decision announced yesterday by Airedale, Wharfdale and Craven CCG yesterday to refurbish and reopen Castleberg Hospital in Settle.
A meeting of the governing body of the Airedale, Wharfedale and Craven CCG voted unanimously yesterday afternoon to keep the hospital open.
Julian has been in regular contact with the CCG and local groups, throughout the consultation process and he has continued to raise issues about the rurality of our area and the needs for intermediate service provision with the CCG.
Julian Smith said: ‘I am pleased to hear that the governing body has made the decision to keep the hospital open, this reflects the feeling of the majority of constituents I had contact with. I am delighted that I was able to represent their views in conversations and meetings with the CCG, and I pay tribute to the many residents and community groups that engaged so fully with the consultation process.’
