Julian Smith MP attends meeting to discuss the reopening of the Skipton to Colne line

Julian Smith MP attended a meeting in Parliament this week hosted by Andrew Stephenson, the MP for Pendle, and SELRAP (the Skipton-East Lancashire Rail Action Partnership) to discuss the progress of the proposed Skipton to Colne line.

The meeting gave MPs from across the area the chance to be updated on the progress of the feasibility study, announced by the Department for Transport in February. It was attended by representatives from the Department for Transport, Transport for the North, Drax and Skipton Building Society

Julian Smith said: ‘I was really pleased to be able to attend such a helpful briefing. All contributors to the meeting were very positive about the ongoing feasibility study, and I will continue to support the project in any way I can.
