Julian is encouraging communities across the constituency to take part in the first ever Community Clear Up Day on Saturday 21 March.
The Day, timed to coincide with the first day of spring, aims to spruce up the country’s high streets, residential and business areas, villages and parks.
The national initiative is a partnership between the Government and Keep Britain Tidy. It aims to give recognition to the many community groups who already support efforts to improve the look of where we live and work and is also asking more people to get involved in work to transform local spaces.

“Community Clear Up Day is an excellent initiative to show the value of making our public places litter free. Our councils spend a lot of money every year clearing up waste and it also spoils the way our towns and countryside look. I hope people across Skipton and Ripon will join in on 21 March to support the first national day aimed at coming together to tackle the problem.”
Individuals, organisations and groups interested in taking part can download a tool kit and information pack for free at http://bit.ly/clearupday
