With coronavirus infection rates at the beginning of January increasing due to the Omicron variant, Julian felt it very important to meet again with local councillors at the Skipton and Ripon Area Constituency Committee, to discuss vital details and plans for public health, schools, testing and the hospitality industry.
Julian also visited Lock 31, Eshton Road, which makes up part of the Leeds and Liverpool canal network. The Lock is undergoing emergency works to rebuild and repair the structure which was in disarray. Julian met with Graham Ramsden, the senior project manager, as well as other engineers at the site aiming to complete the work before the Easter rush.
Separately, Julian also met with three inspiring members of Craven Youth Council. Julian enjoyed discussing wide-ranging and very important topics, such as, mental health, climate change and education.
In addition amongst other meetings in Ripon, Julian met Gary Camplejohn to hear about the plans for the future of Ripon City AFC.
