Julian, alongside Pat Taylor, who is the chair of Trustees, re-opened Settle Area Swimming Pool.
The attendees heard from Ned Sharp who is a local champion swimmer who first learned to swim in Settle.
The £840,000 redevelopment project has seen the modernisation of the changing facilities, the creation of a new reception area with catering and a new multi-use dry space, to host fitness classes. As well as installing solar panels to increase sustainability of the pool and reduce energy costs.
Julian gave his thanks to all the volunteers, councils and donors who made this re-opening possible. It is great to see new facilities and community hubs like this in rural areas.
