Yesterday, nearly thirty pupils from Kildwick CE Primary School visited Parliament for a tour and interactive workshop, followed by a Q&A with local MP, Julian Smith CBE.
A variety of questions were put to Julian, from his favourite subject to debate to whether he has met the Prime Minister. There was also time for Julian to find out more about their future aspirations, with all moving on and due to start at new schools in September.
Julian also thanked and congratulated Kildwick for their participation in his annual Christmas Card Competition, which included the overall winner, Georgia Harling.
Julian Smith said, “It was great to spend some time with everyone and answer their questions. I hope they all enjoyed their time in Westminster, alongside what appeared to be a very busy day in London!
“The Houses of Parliament offer a fantastic educational experience, and I’d strongly encourage as many schools as possible to organise trips like this. Bookings can be made via https://learning.parliament.uk/en/uk-parliament-education-centre/.”
