Julian met with pupils from The Skipton Academy in the Parliament Education Centre, following their tour of the Houses of Parliament.
Julian spoke to them about being the MP for Skipton and Ripon, followed by a Q&A session. The pupils asked a variety of excellent questions and Julian was impressed by their interest in the local community and national politics.
Parliament’s Education Service helps students and teachers to get involved with Parliament and democracy. The centre arranges tours of the Palace of Westminster and puts on dynamic workshops to connect young people with politics more generally, as well as providing teacher training events.
Julian would encourage any teachers or students to see if they can arrange a tour for their school or class. You can find out more at www.parliament.uk/educationcentre. Many schools in this constituency qualify for a travel subsidy because it is far from Parliament.
