Rt Hon Sir Julian Smith KCB CBE, Member of Parliament for Skipton and Ripon, met with Anita Lall, Principal and CEO of Craven College, at his Westminster office on Monday, 9 December, ahead of the Association of Colleges parliamentary reception.
During the meeting, Julian and Ms Lall discussed the continued success of Craven College and its impact on the local community. They highlighted the college's role in providing high-quality education and skills training, and discussed collaboration between the college and various local organisations.
Julian commended the college's achievements and reiterated his support for its work in preparing students for the workforce and addressing the region's skills needs.
Speaking after the meeting, Julian said: “It was great to meet with Anita to discuss the incredible progress and impact of Craven College in our community. Further education plays a critical role in driving opportunity and growth, and I am proud to support the college’s efforts to equip students with the skills they need for the future."
The meeting preceded the Association of Colleges Parliamentary Reception, held in the House of Lords Cholmondeley Room and Terrace, where parliamentarians, college leaders, and students met to celebrate the vital contribution of colleges to education and the economy.
