Julian Smith MP visited Craven College to meet with new Principal, Andrew Cropley, and to attend a meeting of the Land Based Employer Forum.
Mr Smith met with Mr Cropley to discuss his priorities and future strategy for the College. Mr Smith heard about the College’s plans for the expanded Equine Unit, with planning permission recently granted for new facilities, including an international-sized arena, and was also updated on the College’s integration with Evolve Ripon.
At the Land Based Employer Forum, Mr Smith was able to meet stakeholders from across the agricultural industry, and heard about the role of the College in preparing students for work in the industry.
Mr Smith said, ‘I was pleased to have the opportunity to discuss with the Principal the impact of the current funding formula on colleges, and the College’s plans for the future. I am pleased to see the continued success of the College, and hope their good work continues.’
